Licence Manager

About the role 

As Licence Manager you will be responsible for the IT licence management process. To manage IT licencing and renewal, to provide seamless quality of IT service, ensuring value for money is obtained across the Group.  

Key accountabilities / responsibilities

 •Managing IT licences, governing ensure we are  fulfilling Thomas Cook’s needs and are meeting contractual licence obligations;

•Supporting supplier audits ensuring all information is made available in a timely manner;

•Governance and evaluation of new licences.  Developing  good working relationships with key licence suppliers;

•Working closely with IT licence management company, ensuring Thomas Cook gets the best deals and is not over or under licenced;

•Ensure sourcing arrangement on projects are optimal value and commercially aligned.  Engaging with Procurement when required;

•Work closely with Internal stakeholders to identify and minimise risk of non-compliance;

•Work with Finance to ensure budgetary alignment of licence spend;

•Support company bid activity and ensure compliance with bid processes for new and existing licences. 

 Skills required 

•Good communication & stakeholder management skills;

•Proven track record of demonstrating a service oriented attitude with the ability to balance competing priorities;

•Strong leadership skills with ability to influence and inspire both technical and non-technical stakeholders;

•Ability to engage with a broad range of people from front-line architects and operations to high level business users;

•Ability to take a proactive approach to overcome challenges and achieve results;

•Appreciation of expectations and cost demands of business;

•Knowledge of a broad range of IT;

•Experience in management of complex contracts;

•Experience of supporting the development of complex business cases.


•Experience in working in and with international group/regional environment and multiple business disciplines.
